⭐Actors on Actors: Christopher Plummer on Julie Andrews

"Working with Julie Andrews is like getting hit over the head with a valentine."- Christopher Plummer on Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music (1965)

Back in 1965, a younger and less experienced Plummer would refer to her as “Miss Disney” (and even “Ms. Wonderful”), a light, slightly teasing nod to her polished, wholesome image. But over time, that teasing gave way to genuine admiration. You can really see the shift in the way he spoke about her in later years; there was clear respect for both her talent and who she was.

They stayed close for years, right up until his passing in 2021. Watching them in interviews, you’d swear you were seeing an old married couple, bickering, laughing, completely at ease. He loved to tease her, but it was always wrapped in real admiration for her talent, her poise, and that unmistakable presence she had both on and off screen.
