Revving Up Nostalgia: Sharing the History of Drive-In Theaters at the Starlite Drive-In Car Show
On September 13, I had the incredible opportunity to be featured in a segment by Emmy-nominated photojournalist Deon Howell on News 12 Cincinnati, all set at the Starlite Drive-In in Amelia, OH. I got to share the fascinating history of drive-in theaters and their connection to car shows. Seasonal businesses often have to get creative to attract new customers, especially during the slower months. That’s why they invited classic car lovers and owners to join in before a double feature of American Graffiti (1973) and The Cannonball Run (1981). It was such a joyful day, filled with stunning classic cars and unforgettable stories. This drive-in is particularly dear to me since it’s where my proposal was filmed and later beautifully highlighted by Howell.
